  • What exactly is a Cali Learn Learning Pod?
    A Learning Pod is a small-group, in-person session (maximum 3 students per instructor) where students receive personalized instruction in computer science. Most families enroll their child in our structured Cali Learn Curriculum Track, but we also offer tutoring, project mentorship, and prep options based on your goals.
  • What ages or grade levels do you work with?
    We serve students from grades 4–12. During your consultation, we assess each student’s background and place them at the right level in our curriculum.
  • What will my child learn?
    Most students follow our structured curriculum track, which progresses from foundational concepts to advanced topics. Learning pathways include but are not limited to Programming logic fundamentals Object-Oriented Programming Algorithms & Data Structures Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Data Science Cyber Security CS Math, Discrete Mathematics, CS Statistics Tech Fluency (Git, Command Line, Software Engineering Practices) Internship/Interview Preperation The curriculum adapts to your child’s level and builds real-world skills through hands-on learning and portfolio projects.
  • Can my child get help with their school computer science class?
    Yes. Students can use their pod sessions for academic support in school coursework, AP Computer Science, or independent projects.
  • Where do learning pods take place?
    We hold sessions in-person at public libraries and community centers around Montgomery County, Maryland.
  • Do we pick the schedule and location?
    Yes. After your consultation, you’ll submit registration sheet with your preferred days, times, and locations. We’ll use that to assign your child to a consistent weekly time slot with a tutor.
  • What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
    We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or no-shows will be deducted from your prepaid hours.
  • How does payment work?
    You’ll purchase a bundle of prepaid hours (e.g., 10, 20, 40, or 60 hours). Each pod session deducts from your balance. This flexible model lets you control pacing and cost.
  • Are there any registration or membership fees?
    No. We do not charge additional fees beyond the hourly package you select.
  • How do we make a payment?
    After you complete the registration form and sign the waiver, we’ll send an online invoice via TeachWorks. You can pay securely by card.
  • How do I track my child’s progress?
    You’ll receive a parent login to TeachWorks, where you can view session notes, hours used, and learning milestones. We also provide periodic updates based on your child’s progress.
  • How are instructors selected?
    Instructors are carefully vetted, have experience teaching or working in tech, and are trained in delivering our standardized Cali Learn Curriculum. We match each student with a tutor based on level, availability, and location.
  • Can multiple children in my family enroll?
    Absolutely. You can register multiple children through the same parent account. Each will have their own learning plan and level placement.
